Verizon (NYSE: VZ) announced yesterday in its Q4 2012 earnings report that 134,000 people signed up for FiOS video service, while another 144,000 people signed up to get the telco's Fiber to the Premises (FTTP)-based high-speed broadband service. But as Jim Barthold, editor of FierceIPTV, points out in his latest Editor's Corner, he still can't get the service where he lives in southern New Jersey. What's interesting about Jim's case is that not only is he bombarded with advertisements about FiOS, but he also lives in a new housing development where they have already installed fiber facilities and equipment to deliver the service.
