Windstream Hosted Solutions to build Durham, N.C. data center

Windstream Hosted Solutions (Nasdaq: WIN), the telecom service provider's data center and managed hosting subsidiary, is building a third data center in Durham, N.C.

When the 22,000 square foot facility is completed next year it has the potential to be expanded to 88,000 square feet.

Like other data facilities it has built in North Carolina and other states, this latest facility which will add 10,000 feet of raised floor data center space to its overall data center inventory, and will accommodate the expansion up to 40,000 square feet over time.

Windstream operates two other data centers in the Raleigh-Durham area. This is its latest expansion in the state.

Outside of North Carolina, the service provider also recently completed a data center in McLean, Va., and plans to construct a data center in suburban Nashville, Tenn.
